During my time as a videographer and cutter at Play The Hype GmbH, one of the company's most prominent clients was the German bank Sparkasse, which trusted Play The Hype with the mission of creating engaging and compelling videos for their TikTok page.
Their content consisted of videos with storytelling led by 4 fictional characters who play the role of Sparkasse employees: Harald, Kathrin, Lisa, and Mark.
In the videos, they face different challenges together such as finding a professional football player (campaign for the UEFA -European Football Championship 2024), or coming up a with a new song about the Sparkasse.

As the main character of the Sparkasse's TikTok page, Harald, an older man who knows a lot about finances but has trouble understanding technology, has his own content series named ‘Harald Berät' (In English, ‘Harald Advises’).
The series consists of Harald giving different financial advices by either answering questions that were left directly by users in the comments section, or simply giving the piece of advice he would deem useful for the general public (example: ‘POV: You forgot your PIN’).
THE PROJECT
My main role for the Sparkasse videos was the editing/cutting, as well as supervising video shoots to ensure both video and audio capture ran smoothly.
The main elements I worked with for the Harald Berät series were:
- Fast transitions;
- Sound effects, as well as music;
- Color grading;
- Motion design for more dynamic text and other overlays.
